Group Swim Lessons

We will run 3 different sessions with classes on M-W-F starting at either 10am or 10:30am. The cost is $45/member and $65/non-member. 

Session 1: June 6 – 17
Session 2: June 20 – July 1
Session 3: July 11 – 22

Preschool (3-5years)

The purpose of this course is to familiarize young children to the aquatic environment and help develop basic water skills. Kids will begin going underwater and blowing bubbles, floats on front and back, and alternating arm and leg action on front and back. Skills are performed with instructor support.

Level 1 (6-12years)

This course is designed to orient children to the aquatic environment and help develop basic water skills. Kids will begin going underwater and blowing bubbles, rotary breathing, floats on front and back, and alternating arm and leg action on front and back. Skills are performed with little or no instructor support.

NOTE: To progress to level 2, kids must feel comfortable in the water, float on their front and back with no support, and be able to go under water.

Level 2 (6-12years)

Swimmers improve coordination and control of combined arm and leg action on their front and back. Kids will learn to how to glide and recover to a vertical position, gain endurance while swimming on their front and back, further develop rotary breathing and comfort while navigating deep water. All skills are completed independently.

NOTE: To progress to Level 3, children must be able to swim on their front and back for approximately 5 body lengths.

Level 3 (6-12years)

Swimmers in Level 3 begin developing additional kicks, including scissor, breaststroke, and dolphin kick in addition to elementary backstroke. Kids continue the progression of front and back crawl and should be able to swim the full length of the pool (25 meters).

NOTE: To progress to Level 4, kids must be able to swim across the pool on their front and back and have general knowledge of the additional kicking techniques.
